I am a lifelong educator and performer. Teaching private lessons/coaching and group classes in voice, piano, dance, acting, piano, body awareness, and music theory, as well as empowering self-efficacy skills to all ages, is what makes my method of teaching so successful. Exploration, creativity, and discipline are just a few of the important learning skills I encourage my students to discover while achieving realistic and authentic musical progress in their training.
With over 25 years as a performer in music theater and contemporary commercial music (CCM), I was trained as a classical singer who transitioned successfully to contemporary. I bring a plethora of performing experience to my studio. A troupe member with Bob Hope’s USO shows, I toured with the Louisiana Worlds’ Fair, the national tours of “Ziegfeld” and “Will Rogers Follies” and performed in numerous regional roles in musical theater. I toured all over Europe, as well Japan, Korea, and the Philippines. With my national tours, we played major cities across the United States. As a working actress in NYC, a cabaret singer, and local producer for musical theater, I continue to stay 100% involved in performing arts everyday. I am currently an adjunct professor in music at the University of Bridgeport as well as the Executive Producer of our local theater, THE WILTON PLAYSHOP.
As a current union member of Actor’s Equity (AEA) and SAG-AFTRA, and with professional membership affiliations with The National Association of Singing (NATS), The National Association for Music Educators, (NAfME), and the National Dance Educators Organization (NDEO), and The international Society of Music Education, (ISME), I hold a voice performance degree from Salem College, a master's degree in Music Education from Boston University , and I am currently completing my PhD in Musical Arts at BU focusing on music performance anxiety among young adolescent singers.
My mission is simple. Teach performing arts to the whole student---while giving each and every student the opportunity to tap into their most creative, expressive, and musical abilities that explores their highest learning abilities, which ultimately prepares them for any musical avenue they pursue.
