LESSONS FOR FALL 2025 begin Sept. 2, 2025
A lifelong educator and performer, Sarah is the owner and full time teacher at TVS, where she teaches private lessons in voice, acting, piano, body awareness, and music theory. Her goal is to not only educate her students, but empower them with self-efficacy and self-regulatory skills to become independent learners and musicians. Her teaching style includes improvisation, critical thinking, creativity, and reciprocity so that students work towards realistic and authentic musical progress in their training.
With over 25 years as a performer in music theater and contemporary commercial music (CCM), Sarah was a classically trained singer who transitioned successfully to contemporary music. As a troupe member of Bob Hope’s USO shows to Asia, she also toured Europe with the Louisiana Worlds’ Fair, the national tours of “Ziegfeld” and “Will Rogers Follies”, and performed in many regional roles in musical theater. Favorite roles include: Evita (Eva), Sweeney Todd (Beggar Woman), JCS (Mary), and A Chorus Line (Sheila).
As an actress, a cabaret singer, and local producer for musical theater in CT and NYC, her passions remain connected to performing arts. She is also the Artistic Director and co-owner of BREAK A LEG PRODUCTIONS, LLC in Fairfield County, a youth musical theater training company. A former adjunct professor in music at the University of Bridgeport, she served for six years as the Executive Producer at THE WILTON PLAYSHOP.
Proud member of Actor’s Equity (AEA) and SAG-AFTRA, and with professional membership affiliations in music and dance education, (NATS, NAfME, NDEO, ISME), Sarah has a voice performance degree from Salem College, a master's degree in Music Education from Boston University, and will be completing her PhD in Musical Arts from BU in May 2026.
Natalie Michaels is a Manhattan based singer/actress/puppeteer and is honored to be joining The Voice Studio teaching audition and repertoire workshops. Most recent work includes her performances with "Sesame Street: The Musical" at The Kennedy Center in DC this past summer featuring the original Jim Henson muppets.
She has had residencies as a cabaret singer at the Rose Room in NYC, and at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. Favorite credits include The Last 5 Years, (Cathy), It Came From Beyond (Jayne/Miss Benson), Hairspray (Amber), Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), Into the Woods (Rapuzel), City of Angels (Oolie/Donna). Other puppetry credits include Peppa Pig Live!- North American Tour and The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show (2023 & 2024- off Broadways, 2019 and 2024- National Tours). She can also be found on YouTube in the "World of Eric Carle" series.

Steffen Whorton is an Actor/Singer/Teacher/Stage Manager based in Manhattan. He’s excited to work with The Voice Studio and help any student willing to learn. He recently performed as The Wedding Planner in Murder down the Aisle, an original work for the Broadway Palm in South West Florida.
Steffen had a cabaret residency with The Rose Room and stage managed the late show for over a year. He’s a member of SAG-AFTRA and has worked in commercials, industrials, and background work for the last five years in the city. Some favorite credits include: Jesus Christ Super Star (Jesus) New World Stages at The Secret Theatre. Occupation: Dragon Slayer (Chris) Isle of Shoals Productions. The Little Mermaid (King Triton) The Broadway Palm. The Addams Family (Mal Beineke) The Dutch Apple.
